Founder’s Story: Bruce Chen (Liang-Rong ) Reflects on Biontech's Beginnings
I vividly remember a moment with my eldest daughter when she was little. She used to be so affectionate, running out of her room to greet me with a hug every time I came home from work. But one day in 1992, when she was in the third grade, something changed. I came home, but she didn’t rush to me as usual. I found her in her room, crying.

Her teacher had asked the class to introduce their parents, and while others proudly said their fathers were teachers, doctors, or government workers, my daughter was ashamed to say her dad was in the "pesticide business." She felt embarrassed in front of her classmates, and that broke her heart — and mine too.

Although I believed that my work in pesticides was helping to protect crops, much like doctors protect people, I couldn’t ignore society's negative perception of pesticides. That day, I made a vow: one day, my children would proudly say that their father works with safe, harmless “biopesticides,” protecting plants, the environment, and increasing food production to feed the world.

After years of hard work, Biontech Co., Ltd. was finally born on February 22, 2002
